Nu®ant was born four years ago from an idea by Sergio Caruso and Nicola Iannibello, graphic designers and illustrators, and Sonia Mion, who joined them later: it was born as a webzine of few words and many images, and in fact it hosts since issue zero works by italian and international illustrators.
Each issue has a specific subject, the reader can use as a guideline in the leaf through the pages, completed with a text that recounts the artist’s work or a short interview of three questions.
The Nu®ant manifesto: “Lacking reading, lacking writing” Nu®ant for sure is born a spontaneous movement and declaration of intent. A magazine that doesn’t put on airs, but rather loves to deconstruct and look for new points of view and new lifestyles. Because Nu®ant isn’t very talkative, it is attractive one doesn’t know why. Nu®ant tries to get close to whatever is beautiful, to seduce it and possibly to allure it into showing out. Nu®ant, no dogmas.
Since I discovered it, I collected all the issues still available in print, but we all can browse all the issues online for free.
Issue 19 is coming and I’m sure you don’t want to lose it: works by Annachiara Barindelli, Davide Mottes, Isabella Bersellini, Juri Agostinelli, Laura Bagnera, Matteo Signorelli, Giulia Sagramola, Shadi Samari, Tony Rodriguez, Valentina Brostean will be featured >> may I say that all those artists are amazing, but women really rock?!
Do not miss the show TICTIG Tutti i colori tranne il grigio at Casa Testori until April 19: here is another event to add at your Milan Design Week agenda! It is an exhibition involving 20 illustrators and each work is inspired by the thirteenth-century book by Bonvesin of Riva, dedicated to the city of Milan.
