Talents à la carte is a regular event inside Maison & Objet, dedicated this time to the next generation of Scandinavian designers.
Needless to say, I’ve loved this choice: the designer exhibited their products in a small but very nice area, part of the most interesting fair pavilion.
Jonas Edvard – Denmark
Jonas Edvard chooses innovative and organic materials: on the the biodegradable MYX lamp surface grow edible mushrooms grow; Terroir chair and lamps are made from a mixture of waste paper and algae collected on Danish coasts.
Katriina Nuutinen – Finland
Katriina Nuutinen beautifully reinterprets the Finnish glass design tradition. She is also specialised in pottery and uses in her work also wood, metal, leather and fabrics.
Studio Kneip – Norway
Jørgen Willumsen Plateau and Stian Ruud Korntved project objects at the coonfluence of art and design, inspired by nature. They work on wood collected in Norwegian forests and recovered materials to explore the copper oxidation.
Troels Flensted – Denmark
Troels Flensted explores the reactions of materials and colours during the manufacturing process. The tables are cast from a mixture of acrylic powder, resin and water-based pigments for a travertine-like finish.
Färg & Blanche – Sweden
Swede Fredrik Färg and French Emma Marga Blanche founded their company in Stockholm in 2010. Halfway between workshop and design studio, their furniture is covered with leather or fabric.
