Are you ready to go to live together? Or do you want to renew the vows?

For this Valentine Special I was inspired by an episode of my private life, which has not happened on Valentine’s Day, but that is perfect for the occasion.

Before my boyfriend moved to my place, which is since then our place, I made a special gift to him: a treasure hunt to find out all the solutions I planned to share the space, because he was in fact already living here but the house was still organised for my single life.

I prepared then a few boxes containing a small gift each and the clue to find the next one. The idea was to create dedicated little spaces for him, so that he could feel it like home. For example:

– I emptied a third of the closed (so difficult!) to make room for his clothes: in the envelope I included a picture of some hangers;

– I bought a lamp for the other side of the bed, so he could read before sleeping;

– I created in the living room a suitable area for a desk on which he could put his computer and his things, a corner all for himself.

– I designed a perfect spot to accommodate the turntable and his vinyl records collection, with very few changes.

I spiced the clues with embarrassing rhymes: I refuse to write them down here on the blog now, but it’s a good idea to laugh during such an important moment.

As it was a really exciting moment: every opened envelope, each message read aloud, each object, made real an idea that was just in our minds until then. As his toothbrush was already at my place, along with some other personal items: we spontaneously did some small step together until then.

Since that day we clearly know we want to stay together, forever. Speaking about our dreams is making them real day by day. The treasure hunt was the first step.
